I like manufacturing.

Not just the finished product, but the systems behind it. The planning, the flow of material, the schedules, the constraints, the decisions, the handoffs, the little inefficiencies that are easy to live with until you start wondering why they exist in the first place.

I like figuring out how things work, and I especially like figuring out how they could work better.

That usually leads me to build something.

Sometimes it is a spreadsheet. Sometimes it is a dashboard, a process, a model, or a small tool that answers a question I could not answer easily before. Sometimes it solves a real problem. Sometimes I build it mostly because the problem is interesting and I want to see if I can make the idea work.

I have always enjoyed that part of the work more than I can really explain.

There is something satisfying about taking a messy problem, understanding what is actually happening, and slowly turning it into something clearer and more useful. Manufacturing happens to be full of those problems, which is probably why I have never gotten tired of it.

This site is a place to put some of that work.

Things I have built. Things I am experimenting with. Ideas I think are interesting. Problems I have spent too much time thinking about. Maybe a few things that are useful to someone else.

Mostly, I just enjoy making them.

If you work around manufacturing, operations, supply chain, planning, or anything adjacent to it, some of this will probably look familiar. You may have solved the same problem completely differently. You may see something here and immediately know a better way to do it.

That is part of what makes this stuff interesting.

There is always another problem to understand, another process to improve, and another tool I want to build.
